It appears Briggs is not the only one with “thoughtful suggestions.” Holly Lawford-Smith has some suggestions of her own.

I, David Sobel, have taken down a reply to this post. It seems to me that the response piece linked to in the reply was intended to be mocking, or be a parody of, the Briggs post. Of course some instances of mocking or parody can contain legitimate philosophical points. However, at Soup we do not welcome people making their points via mocking or parody, especially on very fraught topics. We welcome non-mocking disagreement (or agreement) on the issues we post.
So Holly Lawford-Smith’s parodistic style is objectionable, but Brigg’s patronizing tone is quite alright?
Anyway, if tone is all you are concerned about and you welcome disagreement, you will certainly let the following link stand. There is no mocking. But much disagreement with the opinions expressed by Briggs and others advocating the same views.
